Looking Into Floor Heat? Read On!

If you live in a place that happens to have cold weather for many months out of the year, and you have some type of hard, non-carpet flooring, then you may want to consider floor heat.  You might wonder what floor heat is, and we are going to tell you exactly what the benefits and consequences of getting this type of heating in your home.  Electric floor heat is something that can be installed into most homes, depending on the type of installation you are interested in, and you can use this as well as another form of heating, such as central heating.   Under floor heating is something that most people with hardwood or other types of hard, non-carpeted floor, will understand the benefits of this type of floor heating.  Having a hard wood floor means that you have invested in at least one pair of decent slippers, but this newer invention, floor heating, means that you don’t have to worry about your toes being cold in the morning, because under floor heating has got you – and your feet – covered!  There are different settings that you can choose for floor heating, and you can set a timer, or even choose to turn the system on and off manually as you please.  Overall, a floor heating system is a great investment for someone who is interested in keeping their feet warm in a hard wood floor situation, during a long and relentless winter.

Kids’ Bedding After the Wedding

Are you new to the family oriented lifestyle? Did you just bring a little bundle of joy into the world? Or did you marry into a preexisting family and are now trying to figure out what this change of lifestyle is going to entail? If you are moving into a new home, thinking about kids’ bedding is definitely a good place to start.  After all, the little tikes are going to need a place to sleep (making your children sleep on the floor is generally frowned upon).

If you really want to step your game up and impress your wife and all of her friends, preemptively purchase enough beach towels for your family and any additional friends that may accompany you to said beach. This way, when it comes time for planning that family getaway, you will have one less thing to worry about, and all the more time to eagerly anticipate the time you get to spend with your family.

One last pointer for the new family man is to consider all the parts of the bed that aren’t normally considered (mattress protectors, anyone?). You are going to need sheets, pillows, pill cases, comforters, bedcovers, and any other additional bed accessories you and your lady may want. Think outside of the box and take some chances! If your family does not approve, they will let you know. If you do well with a spontaneous purchase, you will be revered by your friends and family for days, maybe even weeks, to come.

An Outdoor Wicker Sectional Makes Your Porch a Family Room

If you need an extra living space, an outdoor wicker sectional can turn your back porch into a family gathering area. Your friends and family will enjoy being out in the fresh air and spending an afternoon or evening talking or playing games. You can even bring a television out there and watch a movie under the stars. There are so many different colors and designs to choose from you are sure to find something that will fit with any other furniture you have there already.

For people who live in an area of the country where the weather does not always permit you to be outside, wicker sunroom furniture is a good option too. It is not too formal, so it adds to the feeling of familiarity. A sunroom needs to be open, cozy and bright. You may want to put a sectional out there. The wood should be a light color to emphasize the brightness, and you can pick the fabric and colors of the cushions to help set the atmosphere.

To make sure anything that will be kept outdoors does not become ruined in the weather, resin wicker furniture is recommended. It is a new technology using a synthetic wicker. The resin looks and feels like real wicker. The advantage is that it does not fall apart if left out in the rain or become dry-rotted from the sun. Now you can keep your outdoor furniture outdoors and not have to keep bringing it inside or covering it for a few days because of some water. It is also very good for around a pool where there is a lot of splashing and wet people sitting on it.

Jennifer Aniston to Pay $21 Million for New Bel-Air Home

Reports abound that Jennifer Aniston is the name attached to the latest high-profile real estate purchase in Bel-Air, California; purchase price is $21 million. The news has sent more than a few down personal memory lanes to those somewhat halcyon days of 2005 when property prices had yet to decline (steeply) and the automotive and banking industries had yet to imagine (perhaps) their needing huge public bailouts in just a few years’ time. Clearly, those days, apart from the ongoing Iraq and Afghanistan wars, deciding on a black Team Aniston or red Team Jolie tee seemed like the height of our social pickles.

But now it’s 2012, Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie have six children together, we know the names of the first African-American First Family, and our beloved troops in Iraq (at least) have been called to return home. Oh yes, and Jenifer Aniston is denying pregnancy rumors alongside her current boyfriend, Justin Theroux, with whom, to go by a Wall Street Journal headline, the distinguished comedienne is jointly buying the splashy Bel-Air residence last owned by Robert Maguire, a real estate bigwig.

The new home totals 8,500 square feet and comes with four bedrooms, seven and a half bathrooms, about three acres of land, a handsome vineyard and requisite wine cellar, and a comfy guest house. There’s also, of course, a nicely appointed pool and the beautiful vistas that money makes so much easier to enjoy. Her illustrious (in some circles) new neighbors will include Hugh Hefner, Nicholas Cage, and Lauren Bacall.

The star’s freshest addition to her storied real estate portfolio first went on sale in 2008. Aniston, who will forever be remembered as Rachel from “Friends,” was represented by Jade Mills from Coldwell Banker of Beverly Hills. Mills was also the woman who represented Avril Lavigne in the successful sale of her big pad to Clippers point guard Chris Paul last week.

Pete Sampras’ Thousand Oaks Mansion On For Sale

Situated on a 20-acre hilltop in Thousand Oaks, California, this sprawling mansion belongs to the tennis great Pete Sampras. Completed in 2009, the 16,000 square-foot property boasts a gated driveway, seven spacious bedrooms, 12 baths, enormous closet space, and panoramic views of lush rolling hills.

The inside of the two-story mansion is stunning. In addition to the spacious bedrooms and many baths, the home also comes with a large theater and game room with a separate poker room. Minimalists will love the classic furnishings and blend of teak, white oak, and Anigre woods. The single-family home also features imported stones and high-quality finishing throughout, including a beautiful spacious kitchen.

While the interior is impressive, there are other features that make this Lake Sherwood home extremely irresistible to potential buyers, especially the ones outside of the main residence. Not surprisingly, the custom-built mansion comes with a north-south-oriented lit tennis court, the place where Sampras practiced his game. The property also comes with a separate 2,000 square foot gym, and a large fully-contained guest house. Love to swim? This ideal home is not short of a large infinity pool overlooking the valley. The entire lot measures over 850,000 square feet.

So how much for this sprawling mansion located at 390 West Stafford Road? The asking price is $19,950,000 million, but that’s a deal compared to the original price. In March 2010, Sampras listed the home on the market at $25 million.

Although retired, Sampras enjoyed a 15-year career and was former world champion. He has received 14 Grand Slam singles titles and is considered one of the best tennis players of all time. He is married to actress Bridgette Wilson.

Lake Sherwood is a beautiful community located in the Santa Monica Mountains and nearby Thousand Oaks and Westlake Village. With a little less than 700 residents, Lake Sherwood is known as a gated golf-club community. Nearby schools include Westlake Elementary School. Want to know your neighbors? Other famous people who have lived or still live in the community include hockey legend Wayne Gretzky, singer Paul Anka, singer Tom Petty, and Britney Spears. Sylvester Stallone also owns a home in the area.

Vanessa & Kobe Bryant’s Giant Divorce Settlement Also Means Three Family Homes

The marriage of Kobe and Vanessa Bryant has been tabloid fodder for years, but the press has been especially busy covering the details of their recent divorce settlement. It seems that even a couple who started their relationship with all the promise of a genuinely sweet love story — they met as teens, fell in love, and got married, famously without a prenuptial agreement because Kobe “loved [Vanessa] too much — could not get the happy ending they clearly, at one point, really wanted. They were married in the spring of 2001.

This past December, Vanessa Bryant filed for divorce, and “irreconcilable differences” was the reason listed in the documents. The once-happy couple has two daughters together, Natalia Diamante Bryant and Gianna Maria-Onore Bryant. Though no divorce process can be expected to be lacking in tribulations, the two parties in question were able to agree on their divorce settlement deal prior to the divorce becoming a matter of public record; both are requesting joint custody of their girls.

As part of the settlement, Vanessa will receive half of the total assets she and Kobe owned while married, which are estimated to be worth $150 million. That means Vanessa Bryant will be getting $75 million as a result of the divorce. But what’s really gotten the real estate watchers all over in rapt attention is that Vanessa will be keeping all three family homes that once also belonged to Kobe. All of those houses are located in the Newport Beach area of Southern California. One of those was only just completed after a construction period that lasted two years.

Bryant is a shooting guard for the Los Angeles Lakers. Besides his incredible skills on the court, Kobe is also known for his intellectual persona. He speaks Spanish and Italian and has demonstrated interests in international affairs. But that is not all he is known for. Not quite a decade ago, Bryant was accused of sexual assault by a 19-year-old woman who worked in a hotel in Colorado where he stayed before undergoing surgery. That initial case was dropped, but the same woman filed a civil suit that was settled out of court.
