An unknown buyer has agreed to part with $4.235 million in exchange for becoming the new owner of Britney Spears’ former home. The expansive 15,930-sqare foot home is nestled inside Summit, a Beverly Hills gates community. The original asking price was $2.995 million, which constituted a steep fall from the $7.2 million that Spears originally paid for the home in December 2006.
At the time, Britney had just initiated the proceedings for her divorce from Kevin Federline. Less than a year had passed when she tried selling it, unsuccessfully. The Beverly Hills mansion has five bedrooms, a master suite with a fireplace, and a great pool and spa. Its garage can hold three cars. The once reigning princess of Pop moved out of the place just the same. She hasn’t lived there since 2008.
That year, Spears left the home in a stretcher after a mental breakdown. After regaining her bearings, Spears began renting in Calabasas, CA, though, since early 2011 she’s been living in Thousand Oaks — in another rental.
Currently, Spears is engaged to Jason Trawick, who started out as her manager. Although Spears’ father, James Spears, has been her conservator since 2008, the courts just granted Trawick co-conservator status. Trawick will look after Britney’s daily affairs while dad James will continue overseeing her finances.
